Job Boards: Your Gateway To Home-Based Tech Jobs

Telecommuting is beneficial for both businesses and IT services professionals in the Philippines. Companies can find talent anywhere in the world, while IT personnel can work anywhere with a Wi-Fi connection. These days, this setup is getting more popular. Experts say that in 2016, 37 percent of the country’s workforce reported telecommuting either part- or full-time. That’s a 7 percent leap since 2008.

With more people turning to work-from-home, freelance jobs and full-time remote positions, where exactly can you find work where you won’t ever need to commute? Check out these sites, designed to help you find a telecommuting career.

PowerToFly

This is a job-search site with one goal – to help women get back into the workforce after shift. It’s not your ordinary job-search site either, because PowerToFly is not only on a mission to equalize the workforce, but also wants to reduce the time spent job searching by matching businesses with qualified candidates. The process to get registered is a bit involved, since all candidates need to be screened before joining, but once you’re approved, you can start getting matched with companies. Once matched, there’s a 2- to 4-week test period to make sure the job is a good fit before you can go on board – but you do get paid during that time.

Jobspresso

Jobspresso specializes in remote jobs – there ain’t no in-house jobs posted here – and positions span across any industry that offers the flexibility to work from home. The jobs you’ll find here are usually in the fields of design, marketing, IT and more. Basically, if you can do the job remotely, Jobspresso will list it. While there are plenty of industries represented on this website, it heavily leans towards tech jobs, with a ton of listings for engineers, developers, QA analysts, IT security services and customer support specialists.

Remote Tech Work

Remote Tech Work is another job search site that caters for telecommuting jobs in tech. You’ll find lists for developers, engineers, programmers, data analysts and more. It is a no-frills website, which means it’s straightforward and user-friendly – exactly what you want when searching for a new job. The minimalist feel of this site also extends to the application process. You won’t need to sign up or submit a resume through the website and hope it goes to the right place. Instead, you’ll be prompted to send your resume directly to a specific email of the company in which you are applying to.

Remote Jobs

Remote Jobs isn’t a website designed to be limited towards the tech industry, but it lists an overwhelming number of telecommuting jobs for tech workers. It’s another job-search site that is easy to navigate and user-friendly. While you’ll see listings for remote and traditional jobs in every industry, it’s easy to filter by contract, freelance, full-time, part-time, temporary or internship positions.

Stack Overflow

This is a Q&A forum board where industry professionals can connect, ask questions and network. But it’s actually not just a Reddit for professionals – you can also browse job listings. They’re mostly directed at programmers, and the user-interface makes it easy to filter and search just for remote jobs, rather than in-person gigs. You can also customize the records, so when a new job appears which fits your criteria, you’ll get notified.
