A Look At The Sony Xperia XA
When it comes to smart phones, mid-range is the new high-end. Today’s phone cameras are already better than the old-school point and shoot Canons and you’ll often be hard-pressed to notice the difference between a mid-level phone and a top-end one in day-to-day use.
In this article, let me write about the new Sony Xperia XA, the most accessible phone in the X-series line-up.
The Looks
First impressions of any product arise from aesthetics. In my opinion, the XA is a very good-looking phone. There is no denying that it is sleek – Sony have softened the edges and rounded the corners to make it easier to hold. The screen seems somewhat thinner than most other phones, but the bold top and bottom strips add to the overall look. And, I like that the screen reaches to the sides of the body.
How It Performs
Considering the lower-than-premium prices, it is surprising how the phone performs. If you use the phone for an excessive number of hours a day, checking Facebook, writing messages, ringing your mom, listening to music, browsing the web, watching YouTube videos, taking Instagram photos and playing numerous games, you’ll fall for it. Despite heavy use, I have not once had a moment when the phone has become hot. Nor does it run slowly, even in some of the more intense games. It doesn’t take a long time to load and my connectivity to Wi-Fi and data has been exceptional. It is also comfortable to hold for long periods of time.
Battery Life
The XA features a 2300mAh battery, which is fairly small. Sony’s power save and ultra-power save modes work brilliantly well if you’re caught in a pinch on low battery. The XA also has a quick charger, which supposedly delivers 5.5 hours extra battery life in only 10 minutes.
Strength
Since I’m not throwing my phone across long distances or even often dropping it short distances, I haven’t had any experiences wherein the strength or durability of my phone has been called into question. The phone behaves much like every other device on the market when subjected to harsh treatment. However, I still suggest a screen protector and case for maximum resistance to any damage.
My Take on the New Xperia XA
There may be flaws in camera quality and in the phone’s speaker, but this is a fantastic mid-range mobile phone. The Sony Xperia XA can stand its ground even against the fastest competitors; and, although there are compromises made on screen quality, it is almost impossible to notice. Arguably the energy saved on quality output improves the longevity of the battery, making this a device that can be used by even the most intense of mobile users. Plus, the physical design is exceptional, making it one of the best looking phones of 2017, while still being light and easily usable for hours on end. In spite of the obvious issues with some of its hardware, the speed and long battery life are unparalleled in its price range.
