A Look at Some Exciting Laptops Coming Out this Year

One of the highlights of the recently concluded CES 2017 is the preview of this year’s roster of laptops as companies marched out an endless supply of weird, wild and powerful technology that will surely excite and tickle the fancies of gadget geeks everywhere.

Check them out!

Acer Predator 21 X

This baby is the first ever laptop with a curved display. Not only that, Acer’s Predator 21 X gaming laptop is an 8.8 lb. beast packing Intel’s Kaby Lake Core i7-7820HK desktop CPU. It also has 64GB of RAM, up to four storage drives in RAID 0, a full-blown Cherry MX mechanical keyboard, with not one, but two GeForce GTX 1080 graphics processors running in SLI!

Let’s move on from its odd curved screen and look at its mind-blowing specs. The Predator 21 X’s display roars along at a blazing 120Hz augmented by Nvidia’s gameplay-smoothing G-Sync technology.

This laptop can beat your desktop to a bloody pulp. And this one’s better, considering the Predator 21 X’s pocket burning high $9,000 price. All these impressive features don’t come cheap when this laptop launches in the first quarter of 2017.

EVGA SC-15

Do you want a fast G-Sync-equipped gaming PC, but you’re not so keen in dropping 9 grand on a laptop? Check out EVGA’s new SC-15, the little brother to the spec-monster SC-17 launched at CES 2016.

The EVGA SC-15’s load out is a bit more downplayed – but still awesome – with an Intel “Kaby Lake” Core i7-7700HQ processor, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 256GB SSD paired with a 1TB hard drive. Gaming-wise, it’s packing a mobile GTX 1060 processor, which should actually deliver gaming prowess, is in the same league as the GTX 980M in the larger SC-17, and is even capable of powering a VR headset.

But what sets EVGA’s delectable laptop package apart from the competition? That gorgeous 1080p G-Sync display, which at 120Hz is at par with the Predator X’s.

Razer Project Valerie

Budget wise, considering the mind-blowing price on this beast, Razer’s truly wild Project Valerie might be a product you can’t buy. But what if you’ve got the moolah to get this? The answer is, you should! This laptop is essentially a Blade Pro with a trio of 17.3-inch 4K IGZO G-Sync displays.

This monster proved to be so epic that thieves swiped two of the prototypes from Razer’s CES booth.

Dell XPS 15

Dell introduces this year a slim, sleek 15-inch laptop that offers the latest Intel and Nvidia chips along with a giant battery and 32GB of RAM. This one will give the new MacBook Pro a run for its money.

Dell’s XPS 15 wows us with Kaby Lake processors, Nvidia’s new GTX 1050 mobile chip, an SD card reader, a full-sized HDMI port, a speedy Thunderbolt 3/USB-C port, and a pair of USB type-A ports that work just fine with all the accessories you already have. Even better, upgrade options include a hot 4K screen and massive M.2 SSD options. Cost wise, it’s hundreds of dollars cheaper than Apple’s USB-C-only portable PC! It doesn’t have the MacBook Pro’s delightful new Touch Bar though. Nevertheless, the pros outweigh the cons in this one.
